Homework

Homework:

Year 6 should be reading at home every single day as part of the Strive For 5 Challenge. They should also be accessing their Reading+ account and completing their weekly reading, comprehension and grammar allocations. At this age, although children can read fluently, it is still important to listen to your child so that any unfamiliar vocabulary can be explained and their understanding of the text is sound.

Year 6 have spellings each week-the test is on a Monday and the following spelling words will come home on the same day.

Times Tables  will be set each Friday and children will be tested the following Friday. Weekly video links are updated on our class Dojo page, giving overviews and activities of our maths learning. Children are encouraged to use this resource to revise and recap the weeks learning.

History or geography homework is set each half term- this is a chance for parents and children to have fun and be creative.

Extra optional homework: My Maths always has  fantastic activities on the 'resources' section- I particularly would advise completing the Year 3,4 and 5 booster activities to encourage confidence and fluency.
