To understand number concepts, it is vital that pupils have no gaps in their understanding. The aim of ‘The Box’ is improve basic skills and ensure that the pupils have an understanding of all the necessary mathematical stages/skills.
The Number Box contains enough resources to work with 1-2 pupils or support and demonstration to a small group.
The programme is delivered by a TA for 5 minute daily sessions and pupils are identified through teacher observations, assessments and pupil progress meetings. There is a specific order to follow and TAs have specific instructions through the teaching handbook.
