Year 6 Fundraising & Charity Committee
Some of our Year 6 children have recently set up a Fundraising and Charities Committee.
They planned and held their first event this September, having planned the event over the summer holidays as well as making all the items for sale.
The children wanted to raise funds for two charities - the RSPCA and Cancer Research UK - and they made and sold loom bands and charms in school all week, to raise the funds. There was a huge demand for the loom bands - it was hard to keep up with demand!
After a week's hard work, the children were thrilled to have raised an amazing £300! We were also delighted to be able to match this amount with another £300 from our school fund - making a remarkable £600 in total, to be split equally between the two charities.
We are so looking forward to their next brilliant fundraising idea -watch this space...!
