Our Lady and St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School Part of the Mater Christi Multi-Academy Trust

SMSC in Our Curriculum

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education is embedded at the very heart of - and throughout - our School Curriculum.

Our full and rich curriculum, with its excellent range of experiences, is designed to ensure that every pupil at Our Lady & St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School makes excellent progress, both academically and personally.

Our unique curriculum ensures that every child is given the opportunity to shine and flourish, to grow and to learn academically, socially and morally in order to become well-rounded citizens of the future.

'Caring for Our World and for Each Other'

Our Children are always keen to initiate and take part in activities to make a difference to our world and help others; this can be school-wide, or in support of initiatives in our local area, as well as on a national and international level.

Please see below our schedule of opportunities for children to participate in 'Caring for Our World and for Each Other'

For more information on how we strive to make a difference to our world can be found by visiting the 'Charitable Works' page, please follow the link below

At a fundamental level, our Catholic Values underpin all we do in school.

These intrinsic values form the foundations for learning as well as the basis for our expectations of how we behave and how we treat one another in school. Kindness, courtesy and respect are paramount in all we do.

Children’s physical and mental well-being are as valued and important as academic development.

We understand that children will not be successful learners unless they are emotionally secure, therefore we carefully design our curriculum and adopt a flexible approach to timetabling to ensure that we can meet and respond to any issues which may arise.

We carefully monitor children’s progress with their personal development and our well planned and thoughtful approach to SMSC helps to ensure that every child is well cared for and supported.

We also offer a full programme of Relationships, Health & Sex Education (RSHE) for all children from Reception to Year 6.
