We make it a priority to raise funds for charitable causes throughout the school year.
We endeavour to support these charitable causes wherever, whenever and however we can.
Our children and families are always keen to support us in helping others who are perhaps less fortunate than ourselves for, as Jesus taught us:
'It is more blessed to give than to receive'
Our Year 6 Fundraising & Charities Committee
Our Year 6 children have recently set up a Fundraising & Charities Committee, please follow the link to find out more...
Our Charitable Events This Year
We are holding a ‘Colour Run’ in aid of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, on
Wednesday 29th June 2022.
If your child would like to take part, please scan the QR code below. Alternatively, application forms are available, which should be completed and returned to your class teacher along with the appropriate payment, by Monday 6th June, please.
Letters with more information about this are being sent home - please support us if you can!
On Monday 16th May, we will have a non-uniform day in school, to raise funds for ‘Jack’s Journey’
This wonderful local charity supports families of children with cancer, and we are keen to support them as, like many charities, their fundraising was affected by Covid-19.
We are asking families to support us with donations to the charity on Monday please (minimum suggested donation of £1). Thank you, as always, for your support.
A Day for Ukraine, Wednesday 23rd March 2022
💙 ‘A Day for Ukraine’ - Wednesday 23rd March 2022
💛We are asking children to wear blue and yellow for school, to show our support for the people of Ukraine.
💙 Our Key Stage Two School Council children and Head Boy & Girl will be taking part in a bag-packing event at Asda, Workington on 23rd March, to raise funds for The Red Cross. Please come along and support us from 9.30am onwards.
💛All donations are welcome, in aid of The British Red Cross.
💚 On Friday, 11th March, the whole school is taking part in CAFOD’s ‘Walk Against Hunger’
💚 Our aim is to raise as much money as possible in support of CAFOD, an agency who support children and families overseas, who are in need.
💚 After joining a national assembly by CAFOD about world hunger, all our children will take part in a walk around the local area. Please give us a wave and say hello if you see us out and about!
💚 We are asking for a minimum donation of £1 per child - or why not sponsor your child to complete their walk and ask friends and families to contribute to this appeal too?
💚 This will be a non-uniform day in school, but please remember that children will need to wear clothing (and footwear) that is suitable for the weather, and for walking!
💚 Please support us if you can. Thank you
💙 Our charities and fundraising committee are organising a raffle and lucky hundred square next week in school, to raise funds for ‘Mary’s Meals’
💙 This is a charity that supports children across Africa, providing hungry children with life-changing school meals.
💙 Until the end of January, all donations are match-funded, so £1 becomes £2 and this means that £15.90 will feed TWO children for a whole year!
💙 Raffle tickets and a lucky number on the hundred square will each cost £1 - we would be delighted if you could help us to make a difference to the lives of children across Africa. Please support us if you can 🙏
💙 To find out more about ‘Mary’s Meals, please visit www.marysmeals.org.uk
💙 Donations of raffle prizes would also be gratefully received.
