Year 6 should be reading at home every single day as part of the Strive For 5 Challenge. At this age, although children can read fluently, it is still important to listen to your child so that any unfamiliar vocabulary can be explained.
Year 6 have spellings each week-the test is on a Wednesday and the words will come home the previous Friday.
Maths homework will be set each Friday- sometimes this is on My Maths and sometimes it is on paper.
History or geography homework is set each half term- this is a chance for parents and children to have fun and be creative.
Extra optional homework: My Maths always has fantastic activities on the 'resources' section- I particularly would advise completing the Year 3,4 and 5 booster activities to encourage confidence and fluency.
