The staff at Our Lady and St Patrick’s see themselves as learners, alongside the children. They are constantly looking at how to reflect upon, refine and improve their practice. This takes many forms.
Our teachers meet every week and focus on specific areas of practice which are linked to our School Development Plan. Our support staff are also involved in this CPD training. This year we have worked on:
Teaching self- regulation to promote positive classroom behaviour in the EYs
Improving Behaviour using EEF evidence-based recommendations
Taking a restorative approach
EEF- Special Educational Needs in Mainstream Schools
Making Sense of Autism- AET
We currently have three teachers studying towards an accreditation or qualification.
Miss Nicholson is undertaking the NPQLT- National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching
Miss Foster is undertaking the NPQSL- National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership
Mrs Goodfellow is undertaking the SMHLAA- Senior Mental Health Leadership Advanced Award
We are fortunate that Mrs Hampson works as a Local Leader of Diocesan Education, a National Leader of Education, is a S48 inspector and currently provides schools support to other schools in our MAT.
We also have a Specialist Leader of Education appointed by the CTA, plus 2 staff members who are moderators for the LA.
